Property and Area Information
Winchmore Hill is situated to the North of London between Palmers Green and Enfield Town.
Residents are typically young professionals and families seeking good schools and open spaces. The area has a good selection of quality schools, particularly primary, that rate well above average in the performance tables.
Residents, or potential residents, often talk about the two sides of the area with the dividing line taken as Green Lanes. The roads to the north west of the area, between Grange Park and The Green, tend to be the most sought after and this is reflected in their values.
The property on this side of Winchmore Hill is made up primarily of period houses built between the turn of the century and the 1930s. However, there is a good range of converted and purpose-built flats on the roads around the station.
Those seeking with a tighter budget should look to the south-east of Green Lanes and Ridge Avenue where there is a good selection of 1930s semi-detached and terraced houses at more affordable prices.
To the west of the area is the spacious Grovelands Park which contains a picturesque lake, athletic facilities and a children's playground. At the heart of the park is a Grade-I-listed Regency mansion designed by the architect John Nash.
There is a mainline station in Winchmore Hill with services to Moorgate (& Kings Cross at weekends). The nearest tube is Southgate (Piccadilly Line).
